Financial Aid

In December 2003 when I was completing my application forms for Ashesi University, I was hoping against all hope that I would be admitted in order to pursue my dream of becoming a great African programmer. At the same time I knew at the back of my mind that if I did get admitted to Ashesi, I might be unable to attend without some financial aid.
I was thrilled when I received my letter of admission together with information that I had a grant from Ashesi University. I joined the Ashesi community in April 2004 and so far I have no regrets for making the decision to attend. |
Diversity is very important to Ashesi's mission, and so the
university makes a significant number of financial aid
awards every year. Ashesi's strong financial aid program
demonstrates our commitment to a campus community
that includes students from all
economic backgrounds. Currently, close to half of all Ashesi students
receive need-based financial aid from the university.
Awards are currently restricted to Ghanaian citizens, and are made on the basis of demonstrated need and academic performance. We also offer financial aid to female students to promote gender balance on campus. Families should be sure to inquire about available financial aid during the application process.
