Class of 2011 rules!!!...in Basketball and Soccer

The Class of 2008’s quest for Ashesi’s “B Ball” Supremacy did not materialize on Friday, February 8, 2008. Ashesi’s senior class has a world of talent but the Class of 2011 was cut out to teach the seniors some tough lessons right from the onset! Exactly a week after thrashing the class of 2010 in a rather gruelling soccer game, the freshman class proved again that in soccer or sports for that matter, seniority is overrated!

The Basketball tournament organized by the University’s Sports committee and its student council was a huge success. “The turnout at this game has been incredible. I am pleasantly surprised” says a panting Oku Tetteh.

The 2011 class looked the most composed and coordinated from the very onset with their red matching jerseys and all. Could the huge support for 2011 from their classmates and the fact that they had a larger team from which many worn-out players were replaced have helped their win? Whatever it was, the Class of 2011 emerged as the champions of the tournament by a marginal 20-15 win.
