ASHESI DAY

Open House and Guest Speaker

Ashesi Day will feature an open campus and a public lecture by Professor Joseph Ofori-Dankwa entitled "Ensuring Your Destiny and Legacy".

Anyone interested in applying to Ashesi University is invited to come learn more about the university, along with members of their families. Come take a tour of the campus facilities and find answers to any questions you may have about our institution. A short, student-made documentary film of life at Ashesi will be aired and a brief presentation will be made by Ashesi's admissions staff.

Professor Ofori-Dankwa, the second guest speaker in Ashesi's lecture series, is Professor of Management at Saginaw Valley State University and has also taught at Michigan State University and University of Maiduguri in Nigeria. His primary professional interest in his specialization of organizational behavior is workforce diversity. Professor Ofori-Dankwa will be a visiting professor at Ashesi University in 2004.

SWARTHMORE PROFESSOR RAYMOND HOPKINS SPEAKS AT ASHESI

Professor Hopkins, Richter Professor of Political Science at Swarthmore College and member of Ashesi University's academic advisory council, will give a lecture on the Ashesi campus entitled "Why September 11: Perspectives on a National Crisis". He will be the inaugural speaker in Ashesi's lecture series, which has as its theme "The Global Economy: Opportunities and Challenges for Ghana".

Professor Hopkins has been a visiting professor at Columbia University, Princeton University and University of Pennsylvania. He held faculty appointments at Harvard University, Stanford University, and the Universities of Indiana, Nairobi and Dar es Salaam. His research focus includes global food issues, food aid, economic development and the political economy in the United States, industrial countries and selected African countries.
