Scholarships

Ashesi scholarships provide a life-changing education to high performing students who do not have access to the funds they need to attend college. For the 2020-2021 academic year, tuition, room and board cost just under $12,000 USD.

Scholarship Profile Stories

Together with generous partners, we have taken on the commitment of providing scholarships to admitted students who need it, to ensure that an Ashesi education is affordable to all who qualify. Below are three examples of current scholarship recipients, along with progress reports from them on life at Ashesi.

Gifts to the general scholarship fund are pooled together and sent to the university where the Admissions Team has full discretion on how the scholarships are awarded.  General scholarship funds are focused on:

  • Bridge scholarships:  partial tuition scholarships of $1,500-$3,000 USD per year which help families bridge the gap between what they can afford and the cost of education.
  • Emergency scholarships:  partial to full tuition scholarships for students whose families’ financial circumstances change during the year.
  • Student Experiences:  Funds available for travel and participation costs of internships, conferences, or other opportunities.

For students with extreme financial need, Ashesi works with donors and partners to secure 4-year commitments to fund the complete costs of a student’s education, including tuition, room, board, fees, a laptop and administrative costs.  A complete scholarship of $60,000 ($15,000/year) can be named by the donor and can be constructed for students in underserved categories.  Please contact the foundation to learn more.

Another way to help students access an Ashesi education is to create a scholarship endowment.  You can learn more about Ashesi’s endowment opportunities here.
