Business Administration
Class of 2022
It is a great pleasure for the honor given to me by the Ashesi University Foundation and the women of the RHO Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma. I am very grateful for the support given to me.
My name is Zelia Amonebaafe Abdul-Mumin. I come from the Northern region of Ghana, Bole to be precise. I am a single-parented child with six siblings. I am the second child and the first to attain tertiary education in my family. My mom is a petty trader and my dad is a petty farmer.
Currently, we the children live alone because my mom is re-married and needs to be with her husband. My elder sister takes care of us and most of our needs.

I initially chose to study Business Administration but now wish to study Computer Science. This is because I like computers, although I have little knowledge of the computer. I am not sure with what I want to be in the future, but I want to study Computer Science so that I can use that knowledge to impact people’s lives.
I wish to see a world where children are given quality basic education irrespective of where they find themselves. With this support provided to me, I know that I will be able to pursue that mission at the end of my stay at Ashesi University.
This scholarship has given me the opportunity to be trained and gain the knowledge to impact other peoples’ lives. I appreciate the honor and opportunity bestowed to me. I am very grateful.
I was first encouraged to apply to Ashesi University when I went to the Campaign for Female Education (CAMFED) office to fill out the Mastercard Foundation form for university applications. Now I know that Ashesi is one of the best and effective schools in the world.
I thank all those who made it possible for me to be here and I promise to give my best.
