2022 Ashesi Deep Dive

OCTOBER 5-9, 2022   |   GHANA

The Ashesi Deep Dive offers an unparalleled opportunity to experience a transformative model of African higher education success that has been twenty years in the making. Over three days, you will engage with different Ashesi community members - meeting with student leadership, faculty and administrative leadership, recruiters and partners – and hear about how Ashesi is driving impact through higher education on the continent.

This year's event also offers an opportunity to join in on celebrations for Ashesi's 20th anniversary - where you will connect with Ashesi friends, partners and other higher education stakeholders from across Africa. We look forward to celebrating this milestone with you. Please RSVP by August 1st, 2022.

Hotel accommodation, in-country travel, and most meals will be included in the cost of the Deep Dive and will be coordinated by Ashesi University Foundation. Guests will be responsible for their own air travel and visa expenses. Contact us to stay up-to-date on the fee and logistics for this year’s trip.

See the world's youngest continent - and its future - through the eyes of its young people.

Ashesi's impact begins with a personal investment: in our students - Africa's next generation of leaders - and their education. On this trip, you will see the tangible results of this investment as you meet and connect with Ashesi students and alumni and learn about how their work is shaping the continent's future. You will also see how we enable students to take their ideas forward, and contribute meaningfully to the world beyond Ashesi.

Experience Ashesi's teaching and learning model, and hear from the faculty and people who bring it to life.

As we take the pandemic's lessons forward, Ashesi's faculty continue to grapple with balancing the successes of the last two decades with the new skills required for the future ahead. While on campus, you will hear how faculty combine experiential learning, applied research, and industry insights to bring education to life in our classrooms and beyond. You will also see some of the exciting solutions and ideas coming out of student-faculty teamwork.

Learn about how Ashesi is building partnerships to transform education outcomes for thousands.

Together with participating universities in our Education Collaborative – an Ashesi-led higher education programme - we have collectively influenced education reforms for some 116,000 students since 2017. The Collaborative has big ambitions to strengthen outcomes for at least 1,000,000 students over the next decade. Deep Dive participants will learn about this approach to scaling impact, and the collective work being done to strengthen African higher education.

Meet Ashesi's leadership team and founder, and learn about the university's goals for the next decade.

Over the last twenty years, Ashesi has grown from a bold idea launched with 30 students to a globally recognised force multiplier in African higher education changing the lives and work of thousands of people and organisations. What are the learnings from the past two decades, and what will Ashesi's priorities be in the decade ahead? During the Deep Dive, you will meet Senior University leaders - including Founder and President Patrick Awuah - and engage in conversations about these questions.
