Donors helped to shape a memorable 2017 at Ashesi

Thank you to our advocates and donors who helped make Ashesi’s successes possible in 2017!

Student diversity

Ashesi recruits top students from varied socio-economic, national, ethnic, and religious backgrounds. Ashesi welcomed a record 275 freshmen to campus in fall 2017. Our student body is now larger and more diverse than ever – 870 students come from 21 African nations. Learn about the anatomy of the Class of 2021 in this video.

Campus growth

In 2017, donor funds of $3.3m launched construction of a Student Center, dormitory, Learning & Research Lab, and an engineering lab. These facilities allow Ashesi to service more students and improve the academic experience for each student.

Growing alumni network
With the graduation of the Class of 2017, Ashesi’s alumni community is now more than 1,000 members strong.

Alumni are growing local and international businesses, building and sustaining NGOs, and designing solutions to community problems. One in twenty graduates starts their own business.

In this video, we recognize all those who contributed to the Class of 2017 reaching graduation – thank you!
