2023 Ashesi Deep Dive

The Deep Dive offers a unique chance to step away from status quo sessions and directly into systems change work. Participants will meet with Ashesi University’s founder and the leadership team, students, faculty, and alumni who bring the school’s values to life. From learning about pioneering startups launched on campus, to delving into conversations in the classroom with Africa's future business and civic leaders, the Deep Dive offers an unparalleled opportunity to see how Ashesi is driving impact through higher education on the continent.
This event is designed for anyone who wishes to gain a deeper understanding of Ashesi University’s work, impact, and opportunities for partnership.
Hotel accommodation, in-country travel, and most meals will be included in the cost of the Deep Dive and will be coordinated by Ashesi University Foundation. Guests will be responsible for their own air travel and visa expenses. Contact us to stay up-to-date on the logistics for this year’s trip.

Ashesi's 20th Anniversary Celebration
Last year, Ashesi celebrated 20 years of educating ethical, entrepreneurial leaders who are transforming the continent. Thank you for celebrating this exciting milestone with us!
Our Education Model
Attendees explored Ashesi's campus and learned about our liberal arts model and its key components — leadership as service, ethics, critical thinking, and problem solving.
Giving Voice to Values (GVV)
We held a participatory Giving Voice to Values (GVV) workshop to show how this course fits into Ashesi’s curriculum.
This session explored the courses and programs that support Ashesi students’ entrepreneurial ambitions. Staff and faculty participated to provide an in-depth look into initiatives including the Entrepreneurship Center, D-Lab,
and Ashesi Venture Incubator.
Focus on Faculty and Research
Provost Angela Owusu-Ansah, as well as the heads of Ashesi's four academic departments, shared an overview of Ashesi's research approach, including student research courses and faculty research grants.
Participants learned about the history of Ashesi campus, how it evolved, and our work to build a world-class institution.
From adjudicating honor code violations to enriching student life, Ashesi's student government plays a major role on campus. Attendees heard first-hand, from current student representatives, on how Ashesi cultivates leaders as well as their personal leadership experiences.
Admissions and Scholarships
Director of Admissions & Financial Aid, Araba Botchway, shared insights on Ashesi's admissions process and the role that scholarships play in helping us reach students in diverse communities.
A panel of alumni joined to share how they are applying the skills they acquired from Ashesi in their various workplaces, and how their leadership is impacting the community at large.
Fireside Chat with University
University executives and President Patrick Awuah shared Ashesi's vision and how individuals can be a part of Ashesi's work. Learn more about the Executive Team members here.
This session looked into how the Education Collaborative is leading higher learning institutions in Africa to collectively and sustainably raise the bar for higher education outcomes. Learn more about the Education Collaborative's work here.
Staff wrapped up the 2022 Deep Dive with a final debrief and answered questions.
