Nana Adwoa Sereboo ’23

Nana Adwoa Segua Agyemang Sereboo
Business Administration
Class of 2023

When I was in junior high, I met one of my dad’s colleagues who was a marketer. She was amazing at her job and after a short while, they put her in charge of a big brand. She had traveled to almost every continent and had met important people. I wanted to be just like her.

To be great at your job you need a solid foundation, and this is what Ashesi provides. I applied to Ashesi because of the stories of wonderful alumni who were doing great things across the globe.

At a young age, I knew I was made for the business world. Convincing my parents to allow me to study business at the senior high level was a challenge because they were not convinced that I knew what I wanted to be in the future. They thought studying business would restrict me if I changed my mind and wanted to pursue a different career path in the future. But my parents are very supportive and after a while, they agreed. The fact that I was breaking the status quo motivated me to do my best in senior high school. Here at Ashesi, I plan to study Business Administration as well. Despite the fact that I’m positive I want to be a marketer, I am excited about the structure of Ashesi’s Business Administration program since it allows me to gain exposure to everything.

Even though I have always been excited about attending Ashesi university, I knew merely ‘good’ grades were not enough. Finances were another headache because of my parents’ current financial situation. I didn’t really believe in angels until I heard that someone wanted to help see me through the best university in Ghana because they saw potential in me. I will forever be grateful to the people making my dreams come true and I promise not to waste this opportunity. Thank you to my amazing scholarship sponsors; I will soon become one of the wonderful Ashesi alumni doing great things across the globe. Hopefully, another young person will look up to me someday!
