Watch: Celebrating Ashesi’s History and Preparing for Our Third Decade

On October 8th, 2022, various members of the Ashesi community came together to celebrate the University’s 20th anniversary at a gala held in Accra, Ghana. It was part of a series of events this year across Ashesi, marking the University’s rich history and impact. The broadcast event also had Ashesi President Patrick Awuah sharing the strategic plan for Ashesi’s third decade: Beyond The Horizon.

Over the past twenty years, Ashesi has set an example for impactful African higher education. From a small class of 30 pioneering students, Ashesi now has over 3000 students and alumni – considered some of the world’s best – across programmes in Business, Computer Science & Information Systems, and Engineering.

Our mission-driven partnerships and collaborative work have impacted learning outcomes for nearly 150,000 young people across secondary and tertiary education partners in Africa. Thanks to the consequential work done in our first two decades, we are moving on our strongest footing into our third decade.
